Alan Schechter was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Gordon Brush Mfg. Co., Inc., an industrial manufacturer of brushes. Prior to the Gordon Brush®, he was Chairman and CEO of Pyro Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotechnology company developing a new class of antibiotics. Mr. Schechter was also Director of Informatics for the fifth largest managed care organization in California. In addition, Mr. Schechter has been a CEO of six previous companies, having been involved with five start-ups and two turn-arounds.

Mr. Schechter is a successful entrepreneur with a strong track record in medical devices and biotechnology. He has raised over $60 million, performed over $250 million in mergers and acquisitions and successfully completed joint venture relationships with large, publicly traded medical device and biotechnology companies.

Mr. Schechter holds twenty-five U.S. patents in the area of automated, minimally invasive tissue morcellation technology, drug targets, volumetric controls, healthcare algorithms, and brushes.

Mr. Schechter has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and several graduate degrees in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, in addition to an MBA in Marketing and Finance.

Mr. Schechter has been on the board of several private companies and community related entrepreneurial organizations including Chairman of the California Venture Forum, Chairman of the Orange County Biotechnology Alliance, and Chairman of the Ecumenical Council.
